Enkei even spent special care designing the mounting pad of this wheel with a special CENTER POCKET design that increases rigidity and keeps the wheel cooler during aggressive driving. In addition, the TWIN SPOKE design (same as used on the Mercedes McLaren F1 race vehicle) allow better stress dispersion during cornering, braking, accelerating and all other race situations. Since every pound of unsprung weight has the effect of reducing overall vehicle weight by 20 pounds this results in drastic performance improvements. Using MAT FORMING process Enkei was able to reduce the wheel weight by 10 to 15 percent while keeping the structure extremely strong. As the name indicates, the RPF1 was designed using the same technology as the Mercedes Mclaren F1 race wheels (Enkei is the official supplier of wheels for this team).
